ViewTech Showroom

The Vision: a rabbit warren of displays, quite literally a maze to work your way through, the owner had taken over the business 2 years previously, and had tried to visualise a solution that would provide the same volume of displays, a reception area and additional sales office. By chance we met and he discussed his dilemma, we went to work on a solution the aim was to upscale and modernise but with consideration to a classical aesthetic. The owner had also expressed an interest in a modular display system.

The Materials: budget was a consideration so the majority of the work utilised an MDF substrate this gave us a great base for finishes. We used premium ML Campbell top coats which even after 7 years of commercial use have stood up to the job and still look great today. We as always incorporated some radiused work and some clever aesthetic tricks with our cabinetry. Onto the display system: this needed to support 500 lbs+- doorsets, have the ability to decorate surrounds for the doors with stucco or shingles etc, the system needed to be entirely trackless top and bottom and not tip over!! A multiplying linkage system needed to be designed capable of extending past its folded length whilst at the same time being rigid enough to support the extended weight, and it need to be able to travel over uneven floors. We designed and tested prototypes, generated engineering drawings to outsource the production. The system is modular have as few or as many units as you wish, depth can be a variable allowing various formats and the whole system can be wrapped in an exterior finish as of your choosing, and in the end we reduced the 900 sqft of display into 180sqft.
